W-sensei (W先生) is a character seen in Shuuen no Shiori as the club advisor of the Film Club.[1]

Appearance[]

A man with short black hair hair that is described by E-ki as messy and unkempt. He is also described as being unshaven.[2] These facts imply that he is someone who doesn't put much effort into his appearance.

Personality[]

A friendly and lax teacher who advises the Film Club. While not heavily involved in their activities, he shows pride in their work and even begs someone to allow the Film Club to hold a screening of their movie in the auditorium.[1] Unmotivated, disorganized, and somewhat lazy, he isn't held in particularly high regard, but the Film Club appreciates the unexpected effort he put in to help them.[2]

Trivia[]

  • He was dedicated to the kids in the Film Club to the point of spending a decade after their deaths searching for who killed them and how he could prove it.[3]
  • He wore a maid dress during the class's maid and butler cafe during the school festival.[4]
  • W-sensei is called the "new health teacher" by the Occult Club[5], implying that after the events of the Film Club, he left the school and joined it again at around the time the Occult Club formed.
  • W-sensei goes unnamed in the light novel series, simply being referred to as Sensei (先生). The manga is the only medium where he is named W-sensei (W先生).
    • When the Film Club was gathering rumors for their project in the manga, some students mention a teacher named W林先生.[1] The pronunciation of 林 is unsure, but this character is often pronounced 'rin', 'hayashi', or 'bayashi' in names. Because of the 'W' prefix, one assumption that can be made is that W林 is W-sensei's unabbreviated name, similar to how the other characters have one roman letter and one kanji character. This is the only instance of this name.
